I unfortunately had to be one of the people to break up the cat fight, and I was the one to exclaim that this was a "DEVO show", but overall, this was the best show i've been to.Aidan Finneganhttps://www.facebook.com/aidan.finnegan.10noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7415178.post-16258488635037396352014-06-27T00:57:39.341-04:002014-06-27T00:57:39.341-04:00Glad to hear you got to see the Hardcore show. I just saw the show in Seattle last night, and was likewise utterly blown away - it was one of those "I'm so glad to be alive, right here for this" moments.

They played one of the smallest, coolest theaters, The Neptune, which is less than 900 capacity, so it felt true to the 1975-76 Devo tracks. I was curious to see the reaction of the crowd - whether or not people were expecting a greatest hits show. Quite the contrary, the crowd ate it up, only shouting requests for Hardcore songs like "37!!!"

Sadly, I never got to see Devo with original drummer Alan Meyers - my first Devo show wasn't until '96 (I was devastated when they cancelled a show in '86 I had tickets for). But I fucking love their current drummer, Josh Freese - he's among my favorite drummers to see live, and I probably spent the most time watching him in slack-jawed awe, as much as I love all the spuds.

Despite the heartbreaking loss of Bob2, the band truly felt the most energetic and appearing to enjoy themselves more than any Devo show I've seen.
Hellbillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01920776278213732305noreply@blogger.com
