I was about 15 and I remember screaming in horror during the rape scenes. Maybe it's because I'm female but ... a few years later a bunch of my college friends put it on the VCR and I had to leave the room. Take out those scenes and you have a very enjoyable stupid movie. Leave them in and to me it's just fucking disturbing. It has all the elements of sleazy 70's exploitation horror movies. From the cheesy creatures to the bogus cautionary message about the environment and the evils of greed. <BR/><BR/>Hell, I don't even think it's that slow. It merely moves along at a pace we're not used to in this 25 years-post-MTV world. <BR/><BR/>And I too heard the director complain about the alleged added rape scenes.
