You made me want to see Tarzan, an...Dammit, Bunche! You made me want to see Tarzan, and I have always hated Tarzan--mostly because I never liked the portrayal of the native population.

I have always gone really wild for those guys that seem to have innocent interest. I think a lot of chics do. That's why they don't like lines!Sukihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11536342696980251585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7415178.post-1127358416119656522005-09-21T23:06:00.000-04:002005-09-21T23:06:00.000-04:00Buncheman, I'll tell you all the personal shit ...Buncheman,
I'll tell you all the personal shit via Email, buat as far as MY 10 favorite films go:

King Kong
For about the same reasons as you stated. I can still remember the first time I saw it on a big screen while in college at SVA. It was really like seeing it for the first time. When Bruce Cabot asked for volunteers to go beyond the wall, I screamed "I'll go!" like a damned idiot.
The Adventures of Robin Hood
My man Errol at his Flynnliest. Rathbone at his Boniest. Olivia at her loveliest. The color. The music. The action, with my favorite swordfight of all time. (Not the best fenced; that would be the Tyrone's The Mark of Zorro) Just the most dramatically valid, because these two really HATE each other, and it's been building for 97 minutes.
The Thief of Baghdad
One of the few movies that takes me back top being 8 years old and invoking EXACTLY THE SAME EMOTIONS!
I always get a big lump i my throat with that speech about the arrow of justice.
Shane
My all-time favorite western. Nuff said.
Spy Smasher
My all-time favorite serial.
Superman the Movie
Stood on line in the cold of December 1978 outside th Astor Plaza theater on a Friday night for 2 HOURS! Saw it twice that night. (Remember when you could do that?) Saw it again the NEXT DAY! I'm hopeless.
The Empire Strikes Back
The Star Wars film made by a REAL DIRECTOR! Take THAT, George!
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Exciting as shit, scary like a motherfucker! Spielberg actually apologized for making this as intense as it was, although in a "Making-of" documentary I saw just after its release, he said "Hey, this is the Temple of DOOM, not Temple Beth-Israel!"
Mighty Joe Young
The Harryhausen one, dummies!
The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad
There was once a temple called the Staten Island Drive-in, and acolytes from many lands would make their pilgrimage there to make obeisance. My family would go there frequently during the summer months, and as I was very young, I would always fall asleep during the film. This was the first time I stayed awake for the entire film, as I did not want to miss a single goddamned frame.
God, 10 already? There are so many more. (It's easy when you're as ancient as i am!)

PeeBeeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
