WHAT I DONE BEEN READIN'- JACKIE ORMES: THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN CARTOONIST by Nancy Goldstein
My piece on forgotten black comics pioneer Jackie Ormes just went up over at the PUBLISHERS WEEKLY site, so check it out. And the book's really good, too!
Dear Steve, What a way to start the day -- thank you so much for the terrific review in Publisher's Weekly! I am thrilled!
This is the first in-depth review, and is so well written. You pay the right amount of attention to details of Jackie Ormes's life and work. And it's especially interesting for readers when you emphasize the many surprises in Ormes's Patty-Jo cartoon series. The comments from LeAnn are great; without her enthusiasm and foresight this book would never have happened.
Thanks also for mentioning dates and appearances, and the radio broadcast.

Well, I couldn't be more pleased.
