Art Clokey, the highly imaginative animator who gave the world Gumby ("and his pony pal, Pokey, too") is dead at the age of 88. I'll be back with more on this soon, but let me speak for many people when I offer Mr. Clokey my most humble and deeply-felt thanks for sharing his often completely bizarre imagination with kids everywhere and letting us budding weirdos know that there were grownups out there who proved that we were not alone.
