Today is the day to remember the dead and while doing just that this classic John Berkey movie poster comes to mind:
If only a battle with a gigantic ape had been the worst thing to happen at the World Trade Center...
Anyway, take the time today to remember. And never forget to make love, not war. For all our sakes.

thank you for sharing this with us
I love that movie and
I was born in NYC and I still live here
Love that goofiness... I remember being disappointed that Kong wasn't 300 ft tall like in the poster.
My family was going to go see it the night of January 1st, 1977. I tried for a flying forward roll using one twin bed to catapult me to another one. I landed in between them and only got five stitches in the back of my head during my first emergency room visit.
Someday I’ll have to see that movie, if only to have a look at those towers again.
Thanks.
One of the eternal movie-poster mysteries: What is that flaming wreck in Kong's hand supposed to be? He was attacked by helicopters, but it looks more like a rocket or jet plane fusilage. Classic poster though, for an unjustly maligned movie. I about shat in awe seeing it as a kid in the theaters. My introduction not only to Kong, but to the equally awesome WTC. May they both rest in peace.
