SID VICIOUS WOULD HAVE BEEN 55 TODAY BUT, WELL, YOU KNOW...

For those of you who find Sid Vicious in any way glamorous, I urge you to watch this. And I say that as a Pistols fan.

He was always my least favorite Pistol. I've never quite understood his fan following but to each their own. I guess.

He didn't play on the album — that was Glenn Matlock — and he certainly couldn't play when he joined the band or during his attempt at a solo career. The public fascination has to do with his freak show element and the general public's perception of him as the poster boy for old school punk's most stereotypically scabrous side.

Wow, what a mess the pair of them were. Tragic figures tossed into the fame game. Sadly this kind of stuff never seems to shine the proper light on addiction.
